The Moon in the Well
A monk grew enamored of the moon in a well,
So he drew moonlit water to pour in a jar.
When he came back to the temple, he found,
As he tilted the jar, the moon was gone.

A Song of Taedong River
Lovers bidding farewell break willow branches,
Though the broken bows cannot hold the leaving.
Mixed with tears lovely girls have shed,
The fog-laden stream glitters sadly in the setting sun.
- Im Je
Living alone in leisure where no one comes to visit,
I rejoice only at the moon shining on my solitary hut.
Do not ask, friend, what I wish to make of my life:
An endless wave of fog spreads far over mountain peaks.
